People in Nature Experience

Cover slide for presentation on Designing Exhibits to Activate Empathy

The People in Nature Experience (PINE) was planned as a major new exhibit at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Although the exhibit has been put on hold, Renee spent three years as a social science researcher for PINE. As a member of the PINE team, she researched and wrote succinct reports on topics such as climate change communication, activating empathy in exhibits, and public knowledge of biodiversity; facilitated connections and information sharing with experts in climate change psychology and other fields; and participated in team meetings where exhibit concept was developed and refined.
